The Garcea Lab, run by PI Dr. Frank Garcea, investigates the cognitive and neuroanatomic mechanisms underlying human tool use through behavioral testing, lesion-symptom mapping, and functional brain imaging. We run cognitive tests on neurosurgical patients before, during, and after surgery, as well as healthy controls. Research assistants will be responsible for running cognitive tests on healthy controls, as well as transcribing and scoring data collected from controls and neurosurgical patients. We are looking for students who are comfortable with participant interactions, and who possess strong organizational and time management skills. Please visit our lab website for more information about our research and current studies. Interested applicants should submit their application on AURA, and can expect to hear back from our research coordinator to schedule an interview. Please reach out to our lab email (garcealab@urmc.rochester.edu) for any additional information about our research or this position.
