We are looking for people interested in how the cultural context shapes how children and parents reason about health and illness. We are looking for native Spanish speaking research assistants who are interested in parent-child conversation about health and illness. In this project we investigate how children and parents from the central region of Mexico reason about why the characters in storybooks get sick with the common cold. We are looking for students who are fluent in Spanish: can read, write, and speak. Research assistants will be exposed to fundamentals of research in cognitive development. We are looking for responsible, highly motivated, curious, and eager undergraduate students who can commit a minimum of 7-10 hours per week for at least 2 semesters. Students will receive course credit for their work in the lab. No research experience is required. Do not have to be Mexican to apply just be fluent in Spanish. Can contact: Graciela Trujillo Hernandez, gtrujil2@ur.rochester.edu.
